Productive landscapes may not be the idealized nature we've been talking about, but they keep us alive... Sustainable food production does require environmental literacy --systems-thinking, an understanding of relationships, patterns and consequences, and a certain respect and wonder for beautiful food. And we can grow food in urban areas.
